What If I Want to Become a Registered Nurse?
The benefits of becoming an LPN as a stepping stone are many. By earning your LPN license, you’re open to LPN careers and earn competitive salary for LPNs in just 10 months.
This is particularly advantageous as it allows you to earn higher wages while you work toward advancing your career through a bridge RN program. This pathway is not typically available in the traditional 2 or 4-year registered nursing programs offered by community colleges and universities.
While LPNs cannot initially enroll in LPN programs with the sole intention of becoming an RN, they can pursue a degree in nursing school by continuing educational requirements and specific bridge programs to prepare for the NCLEX-RN exam.
This transition to receiving an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or bachelor degree of science in nursing (BSN) can open doors to increased earnings and a more diverse array of nursing roles, allowing LPNs to build upon their foundational skills and make an even greater impact on patient care.
